Care

Common sense is usually the leader in care issues.  A glass sink will withstand a lot, but heavy objects may break it, as it will also chip porcelain.  Warming the water in the sink is fine, but don’t pour scalding water into a cold sink.

Clean as you would any glass.  No abrasive cleaners.

Installation –Be careful when installing.  The drain should be hand tightened so as not to break the glass.

Formation

Our sinks are fired in a kiln up to 1475 degrees at which time the glass layers are all fused together.  It is slowly cooled and annealed.  It is then “slumped” into a bowl shape and again slowly cooled and annealed to get the durability needed for a sink.

Glass Types

We carry two different types of sinks.  Art Glass and Float Glass.

The Art Glass is a specialty glass that is all made to be compatible.  Every piece and every color is compatible to each other.  This allows the sink longevity without stress issues.

The Float glass sink is made of plain glass.  Since it’s not made to be compatible with other glasses, only a few colors and metals can be fused within this glass to maintain compatibility issues.
